Jacqueline Teh
Small Vocal Jazz Ensemble

Jacqueline Teh is a vocalist, composer, and educator based in Toronto and Markham, Ontario. Having graduated from the University of Toronto with a Masters of Jazz Performance majoring in voice, she has composed music for and performed with various ensembles at U of T, and is featured in the U of T Jazz 12tet’s 2016 album “Trillium Falls”. Jacqueline is active in both the Toronto jazz and choral communities and performs with and composes music regularly for the Cantabile Chamber Singers. She has also participated in several grand scale choral projects such as R. Murray Schafer’s “Apocalypsis” during the 2015 Toronto Luminato Festival and the “1000 Voices for Peace” Project in Brussels, Belgium in 2014. Recently, Jacqueline’s jazz and R&B collective project, Moodset, was selected as part of the TD Jazz Festival’s Discovery Series Special Projects.

Jacqueline is currently the director of the U of T Small Vocal Jazz Ensemble, the artistic director for the St. James Children’s Choir outreach program, and a faculty member at Ovation! Academy for the Performing Arts and The Singing School. She is deeply passionate about music education and sharing her knowledge on singing and its benefits.
